so if you auditioned for a band, would you take it as a good or a bad sign that the director asks when you're done "have you considered taking private lessons?" ouch man, ouch.

nominated for her humility despite her academic brilliance, her gentleness, friendliness, respectfulness, and modesty. i can't walk to class without seeing at least 3-5 dress code violations because people here just don't seem to care, but Lisa took the initiative to find someone and verify that her perfectly modest top was in fact in compliance with dress code.

I would actually take it as a compliment if a music instructor said that to me.

Based on my experience with music teachers and band directors, when they suggest private lessons it means that they see a potential in you to go beyond what ordinary group lessons can bring. I have had that said to me many times by different instructors, but particularly my High School Band Director, and it's definately a compliment if they offer to teach the lessons.

But then again, it also depends on the way they suggest it. Some may mean it in a negative way I guess, but Iv'e always had it said to me as a "Hey, you're really good, you should take private lessons".

Ha ha... I rambled sorry. I'm too tired to be online.
